As of now there are no more instances of the reported error and traffic is been served regularly.

Monitoring

The issue has been identified as originating from a bad deployment of an infrastructure provider.
A fix has been rolled out, the provider is in the process of purging caches from the malformed responses that were returned. Error rate should gradually decrease in the following 30 minutes till back to normal.
We're investigating procedures to further speed up the process.

We have traced the source of the issue and we're working on a fix.

Investigating

We are investigating and issue with the image resize & transformation service we include as part of our Assets CDN. Images without transformations are being served normally.
